The Dilemma and Strategies of “Yao Foundation Football Season” in Helping Rural Campus Football Revitalisation

Abstract

This study utilizes a comprehensive literature review and logical analysis to systematically investigate the enabling mechanisms, practical challenges, and optimization strategies associated with the “Yao Foundation Football Season” in facilitating the revitalization of rural campus football. The findings indicate that the “Yao Foundation Football Season” operates through several key mechanisms: the establishment of a collaborative governance framework that fosters a multidimensional operational community; the development of a rural campus football league system designed to enhance students’ engagement in sports; and the introduction of new stakeholders to promote a positive cycle of instructional improvement. Nonetheless, the study identifies several challenges, including limited opportunities for participation and an inadequate number of students benefiting from the program; the absence of a coherent training system coupled with weak collaboration between families and schools; and structural deficiencies in teacher capacity alongside high turnover rates among volunteer instructors. In response to these issues, the study recommends a series of countermeasures: expanding participation opportunities through diversified publicity channels and innovative competition formats; deepening the implementation of the five education measures by creating clear pathways to success and integrating these efforts with broader educational frameworks; and optimizing the talent cultivation system by enhancing the teaching workforce and fostering the retention of skilled personnel.
